Happy Father’s Day ~ 2018

I wanted to take a moment to recognize two very important father’s in my life. The first is my father, the man who taught me some truly wonderful things about life. He taught me what is to be kind and generous. He taught me to how to be a responsible person and gave me important life lessons; like how to handle finances, how to treat people with compassion and how to trust others. Most importantly he showed me unconditional love and for that I will be forever grateful, because of his love and guidance I am a much better person. His heart is honest and true and I endeavor to achieve what he has done in his life. He has created the most beautiful family that I am so proud to be part of.

The second person is my best friend, my partner for life, my confident and father to my beautiful twin girls, Aria and Alexa! JB is the happiest person I know to have become a father. Papa for JB is pure joy and happiness. I can not express through words how grateful I am that we are blessed with such a beautiful life and amazing children. I am so excited to keep exploring this world with him and to go on many more family adventures together. Happy Father’s Day! We love you with all of our hearts.

Preschool Years

Today was our last day of our first year of preschool! It was our first year of being in a learning environment with kids our age (or very close to) and teachers promoting a love a schooling, an atmosphere of fun and learning how to socialize with our peers. Our school was hard sought after (because we are just under the yearly cut-off for age) and we are happy we landed at such a wonderful place with caring and thoughtful teachers, staff and directors. We have at least 2 more “preschool” years before we enter into full-time “school” and there is a very good possibility we could be doing full-time schooling in France before we even land in Kindergarten in the US. It’s all a very exciting prospect, and we are very happy for our experience this year and look forward to continuing our friendships with wonderful people we have met this year and hope to meet more new friends in the coming years.

Congratulations Jesse!

After 4 years of hard work, perseverance, and dedication, Jesse has graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Southern Connecticut State University. We could not be more proud of him! We know he will go far in life and with all of his passion and dedication to his craft we foresee a successful and fulfilling career (and hopefully an Oscar one day). Directing, acting, editing, writing, he does it all and this is just the beginning. The world is yours Jesse! Congratulations! We love you!

In these small hours
These little wonders
These twists and turns of fate
Time falls away
But these small hours
These small hours still remain”

Happy Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day means so many different things to just as many different people. Some celebrate being a mother, some celebrate their own mothers, some celebrate both and there are those that celebrate the mother figures in our lives that represent what it truly means to be a mother. I’m very lucky in that I can celebrate all of these things on this special day. I have wonderful children, a great mother and those who have mentored me in ‘motherly’ ways.

I wanted to share some of those moments and give proper thanks to the person who made me a mother in the first place, my son, Jesse. He is the one who taught me how to be a mother and he has also showed me how I have failed as a mother as well. It is through these failures that I have become better as a mother, a parent and a mentor. For me, being a mother is one of my greatest joys in life, and I thank you Jesse for allowing me to become one in the first place.

I am fortunate enough to be able to stay at home with my wonderful twin girls and because of my experience with Jesse and unfortunately not being able to stay home with him when he was younger, it is now that I savor every moment I have with my girls. Even though there are occasional tears and tantrums, I get to see so much more of the love and dependence that they have for me and I adore all the hugs, kisses and “Maman, I love you!” that I get every day.  So thank you, all of my children, because being a mom and especially being your mom makes me so very happy I don’t think I can ever express words that actually make that feeling come to life. I love you all!

Québec City, Canada

The second half or our trip to Canada proved to be very cloudy, windy and rainy but that didn’t stop us! We walked the old city, did some shopping and ate at a delightful old pub in one of the oldest buildings in the city. Papa and Tata Nadia ventured to the Parc de la Chute-Montmorency and experienced a dazzling sight.  Québec City will always be a favorite in spite of the weather we had this visit.
